LINCOLN, Neb. - Stars defenseman Michael Mastrodomenico and goaltenders Cameron Whitehead and Kaidan Mbereko were named to the NHL Central Scouting's Midterm Rankings list on Wednesday.
Mastrodomenico, 17, was ranked at No. 79 among all North American skaters. Through 25 games this season, he's scored four goals and added seven assists. The Kirkland, QC-born blueliner appeared in 37 games last year after being added to Lincoln's roster midseason, amassing eight points. He is committed to the University of Notre Dame.
Whitehead, 18, slotted in at No. 4 among North American goaltenders. The Orleans, ON native currently posts a 7-3-1 record with a goals-against average of 2.63 and a save percentage of .913. The Northeastern commit was selected by Lincoln in the tenth round of the 2021 USHL Entry Draft (146th overall).
Mbereko, 18, was listed at No. 19 among North American goaltenders. After playing two years with Team USA, the Colorado College was selected in the first round by Lincoln in the 2021 USHL Entry Draft.
In his first season with the Stars, Mbereko is 6-7-0-1 with a goals-against average of 2.92 and a save percentage of .902. The Aspen, CO native was named to the 2022 U.S. National Junior Team before the tournament was abruptly canceled in December.
Stars affiliate Brennan Ali was also recognized as he was ranked at No. 63 among NA skaters. The 17-year-old forward has suited up for Lincoln in two games this season.
Defenseman Marian Mosko (164th among NA skaters) and forward Harrison Ballard (199th) were also honored. Both Mosko and Ballard are on Lincoln's affiliate list but have not yet appeared for the Stars in a USHL game.
The 2022 NHL Entry Draft is scheduled to take place at Bell Centre in Montreal, with the first round set for July 7th and Rounds 2-7 on July 8th. The 2020 and 2021 NHL Drafts were held virtually due to COVID-19.
