SIX-GAME TOURNAMENT WITH LANCERS AND STORM TO BEGIN OCTOBER 17TH
Lincoln Stars owner Ryan Schiff today announced that the Stars will compete in the inaugural Corn Cup, a six-game tournament against the Omaha Lancers and the Tri-City Storm, beginning on October 17th.
This intrastate tournament will feature all three Nebraska-based USHL teams each hosting three games in their home arena and playing three games on the road. The team with the most points after six games played will take home the Corn Cup to signify USHL supremacy in the state of Nebraska!
“I have said repeatedly the last three months we are in a time that calls for extreme adaptations and flexibility as we return to play,” Schiff said. “We saw this play out with our selection camp and adjusted dates/protocols; we will see it time and time again throughout this season. I am really pleased that the USHL afforded us the opportunity to create this tournament pitting the three Nebraska teams against one another in an actual series with hardware on the line to start the season. As owners, we jumped on this chance and expect this to be one of several positive adaptations that becomes a permanent fixture in our seasons to come.”
