After serving in the US Navy, Brian Dinoso found himself relocating to Lincoln from Southern California.
Being new to the area, he was looking for a sport that would have the same sense of camaraderie and competition as the roller hockey he grew up with.
Thankfully, his friends at work knew exactly where to take him - the Ice Box.
Brian found his hockey family there and when he met Leah Boeck, he wasted no time introducing her to the Lincoln Stars, bringing her to the Ice Box on their second date.
Leah, for her part, had never been to a hockey game. She wasn’t even sure she was going to like it. But from the second the game started, she was hooked.
Leah & Brian
The cheer after the Stars scored, the friendly fans and fun atmosphere all worked together to create the perfect date night.
Brian patiently taught Leah all the rules and cheers amidst the crazy fast-paced action on the ice. Leah was impressed with his passion for the game and what a patient teacher he was, important to Leah as a mom of two.
Their relationship deepened as they cheered on the Stars together. It led to marriage and an addition to the family, a daughter named Jamyson, born with a Stars obsession of her own.
The Dinosos, now residents of Omaha, have been taking Jamyson to games since she was 2 and even recently won first place in a Trunk or Treat competition with a Stars/Lancers Rivalry hockey rink!
Great Job Jamyson!
We are so honored to call The Dinosos members of our hockey family and thank them for sharing their story with us for our series on Love Amongst the Stars!
