STARS ACQUIRE ANTHONY MOLLICA FROM MARYLAND BLACK BEARS

DEFENSEMAN HAD SEVEN POINTS IN 21 GAMES THIS SEASON IN THE NAHL

The Lincoln Stars announced today that they have acquired defenseman Anthony Mollica from the Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) in exchange for defenseman Mikhail Gonchar.

Mollica, 18, registered three goals and four assists in 21 games this season for the Black Bears in his first junior season. Before making the jump to the NAHL, the Jenison, MI native played high school hockey in Michigan for two years. The 6'2, 188-pound blueliner racked up 69 points (39 goals, 30 assists) in 49 games for Jenison High. Mollica is a right-handed shot, joining Jacob Bauer as the only right-handed defensemen on the roster. 

He will wear No. 3 with the Stars and is expected to join the team later this week.

Gonchar, 18, played 17 games for Lincoln in his first USHL season, scoring a goal and adding an assist.
