From
Everett, Washington, Nick Fouts rejoins the Stars for his first
season as an assistant coach. Fouts played for the Lincoln Stars
from 1998-2001. He spent his collegiate hockey career at New
England College and then went on to play professionally for
several teams, including the Texas Wildcatters (ECHL), the Memphis
Riverkings (CHL), and the Knoxville Ice Bears (SPHL).
“Fans
will remember Nick’s physical style of play that definitely
made other players aware of his presence on the ice. He led
by example with his attitude and competitiveness, and expected
the same intensity from his teammates. We’re looking forward
to Nick bringing that same excitement to our team this year,
and we’re pleased that he’s decided to start his
coaching career in Lincoln,” said Stars President Jim
Pflug.
NICK

signed by the AHL’s Utah Grizzlies and played only three
games before an eye injury ended his promising career.
“Nick
was obviously a very good hockey player, both in Lincoln and
at North Dakota,” said Stars Head Coach Jimmy McGroarty.
“He’s gained a lot of experience playing for some
great coaches, which we’ll be able to benefit from as
